Sixteen teams turned up at Monteagle School on Saturday to take part in the Moore Evans Football Tournament. It was the first time Ripple Football Team had ever represented their school. We had no idea how we would get on.
The first match was against St Margaret’s. Unfortunately the opposition got two early goals but Ripple kept their heads and came back in to the game. Excellent defending by Andy ensured a solid defence for the rest of the match. By the end, we were a team. It was make or break from then on.
Next, we played Richard Alibon. We made a few strategic changes to the line up so that everyone got a chance to play. It was tough to begin with but Hiran opened the scoring with a fantastic goal. After brilliant teamwork, Reno scored two more goals despite being studded. Three points to Ripple!
Our final game in the league was against St Joseph’s. We were a force to be reckoned with. Nabil and Reno got a couple of early goals and our defence was impenetrable. Reno scored a final goal – Ripple had arrived!
We had made it through to the quarter finals, where we played Godwin. The crowd were on tenterhooks as the teams were so evenly matched. After extra time, it was still nil-nil so we went to penalties. The supporters held their breath as they watched through their fingers as Ardi took his position in goal. Despite the pressure, he saved two penalties in this must-win game. We went through two-one on penalties!
We were now in the semi-finals! We played against Hunters Hall. We were under pressure from the start but we kept our heads. Despite a valiant effort by the whole team, we were defeated by the eventual tournament winners. We did our best and were a team to be proud of! Wet, muddy and tired - this was the best result for Ripple football team ever.

Yeah!! Saturday was excellent and very wet and muddy but boy did we have fun!! We are very proud of our football team for the fantastic effort they put in to reach the semi-finals. Weel done

Fantastic, Ripple Junior Football Team! By the sounds of the excellent defending we could have done with you at West Ham!
It's always a wonderful opportunity to show such pride representing your school. You all showed that pride in so many games and "kept your heads" when all about you were losing theirs! (Famous poem...)
You all deserve many congratulations; losing to the eventual champions shows just how much you achieved!

We got to the semi. We had a really good time there also we didn't do well at the beginning but at the end we beat most off the teams but we lost at the end.We played 5 games and we won 4.
4 times that must of been hard
As goalkeeper it's hard to save all the goals but I had Ardi as back-up so he was great as me but I went ahead to the hardest team and hunters hall won 2-0 but we were a great team and we believe in each other and we got in semi with the help of Reno and Nabil, Hiran, me Zain, Cameron,Andy, Michael,
Lemmar and can't forget captain Regan.
Well done to the boys for saturday and also to their "manager". As i have heard from the teachers you all showed great effort and pride for your school!!
For the first time for all of you playing together as a team, you showed great character and behaviour to do such a good job (may it carry on whilst in the playground)....
again well done to all whoe took part!!

On Saturday me and the rest of the team got to the semi finals.we got very very very very far considering that we do not have a school team well done team and captian Regan.
RIPPLE F.C did extremely well on saturday they were good as a team and we knew we are good and they done that their hardest.

I feel really imoressed with my school football team that they made it that far. I am really happy that they got to the semi-finals.
